Imagine me walking up awkwardly to a microphone on an empty stage. Everybody sitting around you is dead silent. I tap the microphone, it squeals, causing everyone to grimace and cover their ears. I chuckle awkwardly and speak into it. “Hey, is this thing on?”
Look, I’ll be the first to admit, I’ve been gone for a long time. The last post I published on here was April 21st, 2022, 523 days ago. I wrote that post when I was a freshman in high school. I’m a junior now. So what happened?
Long story short, life happened. I got busy and essentially forgot about this website. Every time I saw the bookmark on my school-issued laptop, I’d feel a pang of guilt hit my chest, and instead of fixing the problem, I just ignored it. I’ve realized lately that I tend to do that often with my problems, but that’s a post for another day.
I want to preface the rest of this post by saying that I don’t plan on posting here regularly. I honestly don’t know if I’ll even post once a month. However, I want to get back into writing here about my life. I write about fiction often, but I never seem to write about nonfiction events. What better to start than writing about my life?
I plan on making many, many changes to this website over the next few weeks. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind it as it is, but it’s been sitting stagnant like this for almost two years. It reflects more of who I was back then than who I am now.
Also, for your sanity and mine, I’d advise against reading any of my blog posts before this. Compared to this one, they’re very poorly written and short. Hopefully these changes will allow me to write longer posts. I’m not talking novel length, rather longer than the three paragraphs that they have been in the past.
I’m not sure how many people actually visit this website often, but if you see any weird things going on, it’s fine. It’s probably just me in the middle of “renovations.” I’ll write another post soon, I promise, once I finish editing the website.
