Oof, so I’ve been inactive, but that doesn’t matter. I’ve just finished writing a story based on a dream I had once. It’s 30 pages, and I thought it would be fun to post one page here about every 4 days or so. That may seem mean because I’m already done, but I’ve decided that I don’t care and that maybe this will keep you coming back every 4 days, whoever you are.
Anyways, here’s page one:
I woke up to somebody calling my name softly. “Paige! Paige, you need to get up. We need to go get Kloud.” I mumbled something back in response and rolled onto my back. I opened my eyes and Aaron was quite literally hovering over me, as usual.
That sounds weird, until you realize that all of us have some sort of superhuman power that we’re named after. Aaron can fly, so his name is based off of aeronautics. I can remember everything I read in vivid detail, so my name is Paige. Kloud has the ability to make clouds to carry herself and small objects. We were all put in a facility at a young age to “prevent disasters,” although I had a strong feeling it was just for research.
I sat up and rubbed my eyes. “Yeah,” I said, “Just give me a couple minutes to get ready.” He nodded and left. Most of the time I had before getting outside my room was spent staring at the wall. I wasn’t good at waking up quickly, unlike him, so I stared at the wall.
I put on the black uniform provided to everybody and left. Aaron was waiting for me outside, as usual. We started walking down the hallway to Kloud’s room. There were a few people hanging out in the hallway, but other than that it was completely empty. It was still really early in the morning, and way before the time that we were all required to be awake.
We finally arrived at Kloud’s room. I knocked on the door and waited a few seconds before walking in. As usual, she was still asleep. Aaron waited just inside the door as I walked up to her bed. I placed my hand gently on her shoulder. She looked adorable when she slept. “Kloud, it’s time to wake up.”
She was awake instantly. She sat up slowly and rubbed her eyes. I grabbed the cup she had next to her bed and walked to the bathroom to get some water. While I was in the bathroom, I also grabbed her anxiety and ADHD meds. I handed them to her silently. She gagged but then reluctantly took them. Afterwards I left and waited for her to change.
