I’m currently sitting in my 6th hour class, which is my block class. We had to do a couple of assignments for this class that involved writing to a business and then making a poster and presentation about that business.
At first I had decided to write to the youtuber Dream, because the rules also said that we could write to youtubers as long as they had at least 1 million subscribers and had merch for their channel. I quickly changed my mind, however, because I got too anxious about doing a presentation on a man who literally plays Minecraft for a living. Another reason I gave up on that idea was because on the presentation and poster we needed to have a picture of the person, which wouldn’t work well. If you’re not aware, Dream has never shown his face to the internet.
So now that I didn’t have someone to write to, I needed to find a new business to write to. It took a while for me to think of someone, but then I remembered that Jenny Lawson had a bookshop called Nowhere Bookshop. I decided then to write to her bookshop. My parents wanted me to write there anyway, so I just went with it.
It was actually much easier to research that business and do the poster and presentation for the bookshop than it would have been for the choice I had made before. Looking back, I’m glad I made the choice to switch, because otherwise I probably would have just felt more stressed about needing to find everything than before.
Even though I didn’t write to my original choice, I did wind up buying a hoodie from the merch website. It arrived yesterday, and even though it was $50 with shipping, I think it was worth it. (Mom if you’re reading this I will get you that money soon I promise) The hoodie is really comfy and it’s soft on the inside. I also really like the pocket. It’s a deep pocket so you don’t feel like you’re going to drop all of your stuff while wearing it.
